Myah had to return back to Aberdeen the next day. For her last day in London, we went to the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Borough Market and dinner near Piccadilly Circus.
Victoria and Albert Museum
At the V and A. We took in the Balenciaga exhibit. Myah had wanted to see it really bad. She is an Anthropology and Sociology Major. She wants to be a curator or do a fashion exhibition for a museum some day. You could spend 2 days looking at all the artifacts in the V and A.. This will be on the list when we go back.
Borough Market
We decided to have lunch at the Borough Market. Since it was so chilly, imagine that in London, I needed to try Monmoth Coffee. After the wait there, we started exploring. I got one of the cheese toasties. I remember seeing these on Samantha Brown’s travel show years ago and vowed one day to try. Myah got a really big veggie burger that was really messy. She went through several napkins. I am not sure what Jon found to eat, but I am sure it was really good. I did find the Processo stall and proceeded to the fresh oysters. Myah’s flatmate had them before and did not get sick, so I was encouraged to try. I got a mulled wine, but it was too hot to finish drinking. After leaving the Borough Market, we went to a nearby pub to warm up. I had some hot tea that I could drink. We regrouped to figure out our tube ride back to the flat before dinner.
Piccadilly Circus
Myah made dinner reservations at Cafe Monico. They had vegan options for her and meat options for me and Jon. I ordered a simple salad of Rocket, Grape Tomatoes, and Balsamic dressing. My main was an onglet steak and frites. Our dinner drink was peach bellinis. We had the opportunity to walk past the theaters and see the shows that were playing. We thought we might try to see a show, but will have to do that next time.
